A little while ago, I wrote about the nose being an awkward and often time annoying part of the anatomy, to draw or otherwise render into anything realistic. Suffice to say, I have had plenty of practice since that time and the time honoured methods and approach, still do not meld and I have since switched my attention to doing other stuff instead. this was going to be about drawing hands, which I find notoriously tricky, with the result they usually turn out like flippers. Sadly I do not have any pictures of flipper hands to post here and if I do, then they are buried somewhere on my hard drive and I am too lazy to go looking for them.
The art side of things, has actually slowed down and stopped in this last week. It is in part, waiting for stuff to dry, having the misguided idea, that I ought be doing Pastels and ended up doing the garden and writing instead.
Do you have trouble with drawing eyes, or at any time find them fascinatingly awkward, especially if you had had a drink or are simply not concentrating? I do, the way round all of this, is simply to concentrate, breath slowly, execute every move as if it is your last. Personally I find not drinking helps the most, as does plenty of light. I may find myself working downstairs again in the next week or so, but I am in no hurry to start any thing new soon, especially not pastels. It is enough of a task getting the garden out from under my nails, Pastel dust will be just a little too much.
